A fully flexible Multi-GNSS simulator software suite. SimGEN supports a comprehensive range of current and future GNSS signals, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou-2, WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN, SDCM, QZSS and IRNSS, dependent on simulator and user authorization.
Category: GNSS Simulation
Manufacturer: Spirent Communications

For peerless testing of Positioning, Navigation and Timing

If you want to ensure your positioning devices work at all times then you need to perform comprehensive testing. SimGEN is a software suite that can create a vast range of signals, effects, error models, trajectories and much more. It brings together 30 years of expertise in a tool which, when combined with a Spirent Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) RF simulator, forms a world-class test solution for all forms of GNSS technology R&D—from the development of a GNSS receiver or GNSS-enabled device, to the development of a GNSS itself.

Features & Benefits

Comprehensive test control

With SimGEN you can test GNSS performance in everyday, extreme and adverse environments, with full control of test parameters (including time, date and power levels).

Future-ready testing

SimGEN supports a comprehensive range of current and future GNSS signals, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou-2, WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN, SDCM, QZSS and IRNSS, dependent on simulator and user authorization.

Reduced test costs and times

By creating accurate, comparative testing with perfectly repeatable test scenarios, users can save time and money by moving tests out of the field and into the lab.

Easy to use

Its extensive default settings ensure even a fairly complex scenario can be selected, run and be simulating a GNSS receiver with RF signals in less than a minute. Its intuitive interface and time-saving features have been honed over Spirent’s long history at the leading edge of satellite navigation and positioning testing.

More accurate testing

SimGEN offers comprehensive modelling of errors and environmental effects, including multiple mechanisms for applying declared and undeclared errors and modifications to nav data, satellite clocks, orbits. Users can also create and use antenna reception gain and phase patterns, several models for multipath reflections, terrain obscuration, atmospheric effects including ionospheric scintillation, and much more.

Software adapted to user needs

SimGEN is part of a family of software and users can select features based on needs, such as in-vehicle navigation, sensor fusion, inertial systems, classified and other signals.

Spirent GNSS simulator systems support public-domain signals but some can be upgraded for authorised users only to generate authorised signals using combinations of hardware upgrades and additions to SimGEN. Spirent regularly updates SimGEN software. As such, graphical representations of the software appearing here should be considered as typical and for illustrative purposes and are subject to change and enhancement.
